David Straney

Founder, Principal Physiotherapist

David Straney is the founder of NEOstream and the Principal Physiotherapist, specialising in stroke and neurological rehabilitation.

David’s clinical focus is stroke. After completing his Masters of Physiotherapy at the University of Sydney, he worked across specialist stroke units in the United Kingdom’s National Health Service — including Charing Cross Hospital, the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, and St Thomas’ Hospital — among some of the busiest stroke and neurological rehabilitation units in London. That experience shaped a rehabilitation approach built specifically around the realities of stroke recovery: high-intensity, repetition-based practice, and rehab that keeps going well beyond the hospital ward.

During his studies, David spent a month in San Remigio, Philippines, providing volunteer home-based physiotherapy for community members living with neurological disabilities — an experience that showed him first-hand how much stands between people and the specialist care they need. When telehealth emerged as a genuinely effective way to deliver physiotherapy, he saw the opportunity to bring the same specialist stroke and neuro rehab he’d practised in NHS stroke units to people wherever they were recovering — and founded NEOstream.

The NEOstream Pathway

A new pathway to access, built around four steps that flow with you rather than tie you to a clinic.

Connect — Reach out by telehealth or a mobile visit request, and we confirm the right pathway for your condition.

Assess — A full clinical assessment, by video or in person, wherever you are.

Flow — A tailored, progressive treatment plan that moves with you, not tied to a clinic.

Sustain — Ongoing review and adjustment, so progress keeps flowing after the first block of care.

“So many people across the world now have access to the internet at the tips of their fingers, but aren’t able to attend physiotherapy clinics. I want NEOstream to help bridge the gap in finding a solution for people to manage their pain or dysfunction.”
